ISD Solutions: Making a difference locally

For the past three years, ISD Solutions have supported a local primary school to deliver the Young Readers Programme.

Reading is a passion that runs in the P&M Group family so the Young Readers Programme felt like the perfect way to support children in their local community.

Research shows that children who read for enjoyment are more likely to achieve at or above their expected level than those who don’t, regardless of their socio-economic background.

The Young Readers Programme, which celebrates its 20^th anniversary in the 2016/17 academic year, provides teachers with training and support to deliver three fun events throughout the year where children can choose a new book to keep

CEO Andy Moon shared the value that the P&M Group place on both staff development and supporting local children to read for enjoyment:

“It’s all about enabling people to fulfil their potential, and recognising that, given the right support and chances, people might be able to achieve more than even they ever thought. That’s true for our staff and for the children at Tuffley Primary School. We know that reading improves a young person’s life chances so it’s a privilege to help out with that and make a difference in our local community.”
