ISD Solutions First to Offer Kingspan Quadcore Panel Technology to Increase Thermal Efficiency for Cold Store Developments

GLOUCESTER, 9 September 2015: As a specialist in composite panel cold store construction, ISD Solutions is focussed on delivering the very best high-performance solutions for our supermarket, food manufacture and distribution clients.

Constant improvement to deliver the environmental performance and reduced operational energy costs that our customers expect is essential. So we were particularly excited when Kingspan Insulated Panels announced their new IPN-QuadCore technology – a new insulated panel core, incorporating a microcell structure, which delivers a thermal improvement of up to 20% over standard polyurethane insulated panel core insulation.

At a recent introductory meeting with Kingspan, we learnt more about the product which will be introduced initially too cold store insulated panels, with a wider rollout later in the year. As a lead contractor in this market, we shall be one of the first companies to offer this new technology. We believe this will have a direct benefit for our cold store clients and we are looking forward to specifying and working with this new panel as it becomes available. We also see possibilities for the new panels in fire rated environments too.

The product really does looks like a game changer: a study by energy consultants AECOM, for example, showed that a Kingspan IPN-QuadCore building envelope would reduce annual energy demand by almost 14%. What’s more, panels incorporating IPN-QuadCore technology are backed by the industry’s first 40-year guarantee covering structural and thermal performance.

We understand that IPN-QuadCore panels will also be available in a wider range of spans, up to 7m in some LPS 1208 specifications and up to 12m in certain specifications according to EN 13501-2. This, in turn, should enable us to further shorten the build time for certain projects with corresponding time and cost savings.

With this announcement, Kingspan has clearly enhanced their leadership position in the insulated panel market and we think many of the cold store development projects we work on will benefit.
