Iceland Manufacturing Ltd is part of the Iceland Foods Group where at their site in Gorton, Manchester they manufacture ready meal products for Iceland Stores.
The project for Iceland Manufacturing Ltd at their Gorton factory in Manchester, was to install a replacement insulated ceiling to an area of 1100m2, whilst allowing the and maintain their high output production schedule.
Project
ISD Cold Store Maintenance was tasked to install various partition walls to segregate working areas from live areas, in turn allowing us access to the ceiling to start removal of the old Rockwall panels. Starting at one end of the building the factory was split into 4 separate areas, then as we completed one the next was handed over in a rolling process.
ISD installed Kingspan KS1100 CS PIR panels for the walls and ceilings. All doors, trims and fabrications for the project were manufactured and supplied by our factory.
This was a very demanding and challenging cold store refurbish given the nature of the existing building, limited access routes for materials and plant, plus the logistics of maintaining production to the high care areas, however, ISD was able to meet the deadline on time and in the budget.
