DP World, London Gateway

DP World is a global logistics leader specializing in infrastructure and innovative end-to-end supply chain solutions to facilitate seamless trade.

In the UK, the company has established a comprehensive integrated network, including two deep-water ports at London Gateway and Southampton, freight rail terminals, a rapidly growing logistics park, and an advanced software platform that connects customers with border control systems.

Industry Leading Air Tightness

Plot 3010, London Gateway is a new build industrial distribution centre at the mouth of the River Thames, built for cargo logistics giant DP World. Working under principal contractor Goldbeck Construction, ISD Solutions were contracted to create the walls and roof for the facility, with energy efficiency a prime objective.

With air permeability measured in metres cubed per hour per square metre, at a test pressure of 50 Pascal (m³/(h.m²)@50Pa), industry expectations for a low rating stand at 3m³. Part L building regulations, aimed at guiding construction companies towards conservation of fuel and power, suggest that 5m³ is appropriate.

On this project, thanks to its industry leading expertise and installation standards, the team at ISD achieved a rating of just 1.08m³.
