We have an exciting opportunity within our finance team for a conscientious, driven individual who is already an experienced purchase ledger clerk to be based at our head office in Gloucester.

We are looking for talented people who share our passion for delivering great customer service whilst also being able to work within an enjoyable and hardworking team environment.

The candidate will be diligent, hard-working with good communication skills, and ideally have previous purchase ledger experience in the Construction Industry as well as knowledge of subcontract and more specifically CIS.

About our business:

The P&M Group deliver projects of varying size and complexity ranging from the hundreds of pounds to upwards of several million.  Successful delivery of these projects requires input from Designers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers (PM’s), H&S, Site staff and the support functions.

The Finance team form a crucial element of our support function and work closely with the core business, supporting all the companies in the Group by providing accurate and timely financial information as required.

The Group has over recent years achieved a significant growth in turnover and profitability with turnover expected to eclipse £50M.  This has been achieved through the steady recruitment of additional experienced personnel and resources.

As the business continues to grow the need for a fully resourced finance function is paramount and therefore this new position will enable the Finance team to offer the support the business requires.

 The ideal candidate will have several years proven experience in a busy accounts department, ideally within the construction sector. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation of Supplier account statements.
  • Processing of supplier and subcontract invoices.
  • Responsible for facilitating weekly payment runs for supplier payments, employee expenses and other ad hoc payments.
  • Assist with the collection of all environmental data needed to complete monthly returns.
  • Processing of employee expenses and petty cash returns.
  • Assist Credit Controller with sales ledger invoice processing and debt management.

Essential skills:

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft 365.
  • GCSE or equivalent in Math’s and English.
